Can Genital Warts Cause Infertility?
I was diagnosed with HPV genital warts. Could this type of HPV cause infertility?
Can the doctor do a test to see what strain I have?

Through my research, it does not appear that HPV causes infertility.
The strains of HPV that cause genital warts are usually different to the strains that cause cervical cancer. Each strain of HPV has been assigned a number, and we know that HPV 6 and 11 are known to cause genital warts. We also know that HPV 16, 18, and several others are associated with cervical cancer.
High risk, cancer-causing strains of HPV do not generally produce symptoms.
HPV in itself doesn’t cause infertility. The only way it could affect a woman’s fertility is if it was a high risk strain causing cervical cancer and a hysterectomy needed.
