Could I Have Gotten Hpv From Best Friend Non-sexually?
My best friend just had a baby and I held the baby before she got her first bath. My friend has HPV and warts. Could I have gotten HPV by holding and kissing the baby before her bath? My dr called and said my pap was abnormal and HPV is a possibility but I don’t know I could have gotten it. Please help?
You didn’t. HPV has to be spread sexually, unlike herpes. You probably got it somewhere else, it’s very prevalent in the population. The virus has to have come into contact with some part of you down there, if it’s your cervix, that means it was through sex. Remember, HPV is for the most part silent in men, and only shows up in women. Also, it’s only the usual cause of abnormal pap smears. It’s possible to have not had sex before and have an abnormal pap smear happen, just unusual.

HPV is very contagious. So so so many people have it. You can use a condom and 100% of the time you will catch HPV.. Why worry, everyone has it! But to answer your question if that baby has active HPV cells on his private skin and you touch his privates while you change the diaper – then you have an itch on your privates and reach down to scratch when nobody looking – YOU JUST CAUGHT HPV! HPV is wart that grow only in private area. Any other areas are diff type of wart
HPV is known to 120 type strains but 37 are known to sexual transmitted disease with high contagion. It would be spreaded through skin to skin contact with infected area during sexual intercourse, especially for genital area.
Also the HPV may cause genital warts. Some are visible, and some are invisible. But that do not mean there is no HPV virus in your body.
To answer your question, if the baby has warts on his private placy and you just touchu it, you might be infected. Just take care, it would be infected by skin to skin contact with infected area.
