How long does HPV take to turn into cervical cancer?
I had a negative pap in February but believe I have HPV now (noticed yesterday). If I had cancerous cell from HPV would it had shown up on the pap in Feb? If I got it recently can it turn into cancer within months?

Humam Papilloma Virus (HPV ) doesn’t always result in cervical cancer. If you have HPV you then have an increased chance of developing cervical cancer but it is by no means a certainty. See your doctor as soon as possible though to put your mind at rest x
If you’re saying that you noticed yesterday I assume you are having genital warts. Yes, genital warts is a symtom of HPV. However, the strain of HPV that causes genital warts is considered to be “low risk” meaning that you’re chances of getting cervical cancer aren’t as high as you think.
Secondly even if you had the high risk strain of the virus, you would most likely have more than a few months before the cells began to change. It’s usually a process that happens long term and I’m talking years not months.
Thirdly, go back to the doctor and have another pap, and if you see warts get treatment for that too asap cause they spread like wildfire.
