  1. Joseph M says:

Cold sores and sores in general in and around the mouth are usually associated with herpies. There is a mild form of herpies that inflicts 99% of teenagers, but more severe forms of herpies can be problematic. herpies is associated with a virus like hepitites and genitle warts. Unfortunatly STD’s that are forms of viruses are not curable.

  2. ckmatatics says:

Cold sores can lead to genital herpes, not warts. Herpes and warts are two different things from two different viruses. Technically, from not washing your hands, you may have given yourself genital herpes from touching her cold sore and then touching your scrotum. The possibility is there but probably unlikely.

  3. A THINKER says:

I wouldn’t worry that much about it dude. They don’t spread like wild fires.just be careful as possible

  4. no you can get genital herpes though

  5. LeighAnn D says:

No.There are different strains of herpes.

  6. Pops says:

First off, cold sore herpes and genital herpes are different viruses……cousins but different.

But if you have a cold sore on your lip and you give oral sex to your partner, they “may” get a cold sore on their genitals. This isn’t the real “Genital Herpes”, but is a normal cold sore.

By the same token, IF you give oral sex to a person that has genital herpes you will probably contract herpes….only it will be on your MOUTH.

Cold sores, like genital herpes is very contagious. Pops
