Can I Get Genital Warts By Sharing Clothes?
my roommate was just diagnosed with genital warts. we share clothes all the time and they arent always clean, like jeans and stuff. can i get them just by sharing her pants?

Don’t think I would wear someones underwear, but thats nasty anyway
While there are isolated reports of HPV (the virus that causes genital warts) infection resulting from exposure to a contaminated tanning bed, the chance of becoming infected from sharing clothing is very remote. However, the fact you have asked this question means you may want to curb your practice of wearing someone else’s dirty clothes!
I am not sure. I do know that genital warts is the HPV virus. And the HPV virus is a skin virus and is transfered by simple skin contact. That is why a condom will not protect you from the transmission of HPV. So I would be careful about sharing her clothes but only if they aren’t clean. Clean clothes would be perfectly fine, but I wouldn’t continue sharing unclean clothes with anybody!
