My parnter and i were treated for the TRICH, but now iv been told from my pap test that i have abnormal cells,HPV, i asked my doctor if my partner can get it and she said no, she also told me that sex should be ok in a week??? this doesn’t sound right to me….she also told me he wouldn’t need treatment for the HPV????? please help, i feel alone and confused, and i have no one to talk to about this… I don’t want to alarm him. can it be passed on through oral sex?

ok, i am going to set the record straight. i have hpv. since you don’t have the strain that produces warts, here is my answer. i just got done going through everything you are going through. if you infect a guy with hpv, because you already have that strain, he cannot give it back to you and even if the hpv goes away on its own or goes dormant… he still cannot give it back to you. once you have a certain strain, you cannot get it again. as far as the male, he will not get any symptoms and because men have a different genital makeup than we do, they get rid of it in about two weeks on its own. this is why your doctor told you it was ok for the two of you to have sex. my husband did not have to be tested, nor did he have to do any treatment. (i have had hpv since before i met him). my doctor told me unprotected sex was fine and there was nothing to worry about. however, we did abstain when i had to have my biopsies done (the hpv caused abnormal cells and dysplasia), but that was because i was uncomfortable. i don’t know if it can be passed through oral sex, but again, with what i said above, it doesn’t matter. you can put him at ease. he will be just fine. if you had the strain that produced warts, then you would have to go through treatment and have protected sex, but hpv has over 100 different strains. some are completely harmless, a few cause cervical cancer, and some cause genital warts. i hope i helped and make sure that you get your paps regularly, so you can catch any abnormal cells.
There are many kinds of HPV Low Risk and High Risk. Some of these will cause warts a lot of them will not. Guys almost never get anything the girls get the worst part of the HPV. No need to be worried your doctor told you the truth. You’r pap had abnormal cells now saying how abnormal they are is different she might have you come in and re-pap every 4-6 months but that all depends on what kind of HPV you have. Hope this helps…
P.S. It’s not the worst thing you can get. So many people have it and don’t know they have it. 80% of people 18-30 have it and don’t even know it.
Dont worry.. I also have HPV. 1 in 3 women have it. Your doctor is insaine! 1st off Yes your partner can get it. 2nd off sex is always hazardous when dealing with a STD. There are times when you have HPV that your immune system will kick it out.. Then it should be ok. USE A CONDOM! 3rd off your partner should also go get tested to see if he has it. 4th off yes it can be transferred to eachother by having oral sex. It can also be transferred by having 4 play. FYI. Eaven though you use a condom, it can still be passed on. The condom doesnt cover the whole shaft of the penis. When the unprotected part of the shaft is penetrated it will have the vaginal fluids on it. You cannot just go and wash it off either. This STD has ruined the rest of our sexual life. You must tell every sexual partner from here on out that you have it. Dont worry sweetie… Your not the only one out there… Good luck to you and keep your chin up. By the way…. Get yourself a new doctor.
