Please Help Very Confused About Hpv And Genital Warts?
I was diagnosed with genital warts in the anal area. I have no warts in or around my vagina but I have symptoms in my vagina it itches and is raw and tender feeling. I just used Aldara cream to get rid of the warts in the anal area and they are gone for now, but I really don’t understand why there is nothing showing up in every test that I have taken. Everthing has been negative. I even had an hpv test and it was negative but yet I have genital warts in the anus area. Doesn’t make sense I have been dealing with this for a year now. I don’t know what to do anymore the doctor’s do not help. I’ts also not a yeast or any infection. I have been tested.

Your Pap smear looks for abnormal cell changes of the cervix…your doctor is only screening the cervix for abnormal cells changes with your Pap smear.
Our HPV test is a screening against 13 high risk HPV types. The FDA approved HPV test does not screen for low risk HPV types. The HPV test does not screen for all 40 genital high and low HPV types.
Most all visible warts are of low risk HPV types…most often HPV type 6 or 11.
Your clear Pap and your clear HPV test indicates you do not have abnormal cervical cells and you do not have one of the 13 high risk HPV types that is screened for with our HPV test.
Your HPV infection has apparently stayed in the anal area….
Our Pap test does not include cells from the vulva or the anal area.
I am not sure why the vaginal canal is itches and raw…it your GYN has screened for Bacteria and yeast….and nothing is showing….I would see another doctor.
The vulva is subjected to many skin disorders…and if any of this itch and rawness is of the vulvo-vaginal area…a dermatologist may be able to help you. My dermatologist diagnosed my vulva intraepithelial neoplasia III (VIN) where my GYN didn’t. I do understand your frustration….I had seen several GYN and they were no help…I asked my dermatologist…and see spotted the trouble very quickly.
Have you started the elimination game…first with produces you are using…then sometimes it can be foods..
If you have the same sex partner…you may want to see if you are allergic to your partner’s sperm…(I have only heard of this once…so it is rare..but rare does happen.

If you have been tested and it says your negative, and your doctors are saying your negative and don’t need treatment, then you probably don’t have genital warts. you might just not be cleaning your butt well enough and it causing condensation down there which is making the skin more oily which leads to break outs.
try to be more cleanly and it might clean itself up.

The doctor will also examine your mouth and throat areas for any appearance of warts. To the naked eye, genital warts may look like flesh-colored flat or raised lesions on the skin. The warts may be small or large and are found in clumps.
So if your doctor says it’s not warts, maybe its some other condition.
