I am suprised that your doctor didnt take a sample and take a look under the microscope.
anyway - there is really no way to tell at this point. Unless you wanted to try the cream again (after your period) and see if it goes away.
The probelm is - your mind. Did it really start to go away?
I would call my dr. and talk to her about taking a sample. Then you would know for sure. Its your health and you deserve to know what it is.
If it is a skin tag - then no worries. If its HPV - then you need to educate yourself so you can know what going on with your body and tell future partners.

They are different yes, HPV will make you more susceptible to things like warts and lesions. But you can have them without carrying HPV. It may just be a mole, skin tag, quite harmless really. Just get it cut off, see what happens. You should be getting a blood work done up, but I wouldn't worry all that much.
