If I Have A Few Warts Does It Mean I Have Hpv??
I have a few warts on the back of my leg that have been there for a few months. I finally bought a home treatment today because they have started to become painful, but I heard that just having them means I have HPV?? Is that true, and if so do I need to do anything??

There are a lot of different types of HPV. It’s believed that HPV affects over 80% of the population!
The kind that causes Cervical Cancer usually does not show any symptoms, and is diagnosed with a pap smear.
The kind that shows symptoms shows symptoms of genital warts.
The warts you see may not actually be warts- they could be harmful, or they could be symptoms of something else.
Even though there may be doctors on Yahoo Answers, no one can tell you what you have- HPV or not- so see your doc.
While HPV is a common cause of warts, it’s not clear if you really have warts or not. You could try over the counter medication for this, such as salicylic acid or liquid nitrogen. If those don’t work, you could make an appointment to see your doctor. If you are a female (like your picture suggests) make sure you are getting your scheduled pap smears to check for HPV that could cause cervical cancer. That’s more important than warts on your skin (unless these warts are in the genital area, then that’s something you shouldn’t treat yourself).
