My boyfriend once got infected with HPV. He hasn’t had an outbreak in years, but the virus could still be in his system. I know there is a vaccine, but reading about all of the adverse affects, I don’t want to get it unless it’s absolutely necessary. How well will condoms protect me? Are there other alternatives?
I know that some strains cause cervical cancer and some cause warts…so does that mean that you can have either one or the other but not both? If I have the strain that causes cervical cancer, then would it be impossible for my boyfriend to get the kind that causes warts from having sex with me?
Correction, I know you CAN get both, but do they have to be seperate viruses is what I’m asking? Both in men and women.
I just recieved an abnormal pap smear for HPV and I have done cryo as well as a leep procedure around 2 years ago. Now that its back does it mean that my boyfriend has it? I’m 23 and we have 2 beautiful boys so would it make sense to have my cervics removed since we dont want anymore children? Wouldnt removing my cervics prevent another infection?

I have been with my boyfriend for about a year, and we are still virgins. We have done “things” but never sex. I am 100% positive that he is a virgin, as the same goes for me. Is it still possible for one of us to have and contract the HPV virus, even though I am positive that we have never even fooled around with other people as well?
