Help for Genital Warts

I have an appointment for the wellwoman clinic on friday to be officially diagnosed with what i know is genital warts, has anyone been through treatment? How was it? I assume they will use chryotherapy, how long does it take to get rid of them and have healed skin again? How bad is the treatment – how painful on the inner genital tissue? Can they just cut off some on the outer skin around the thighs? Please give your experience and the time ot took to heal.

Is HPV caused by herpes? or is HPV and advanced stage of gential herpes? If so, how long does it take to progress between the two?

I hear 2 different sides. I know certain strands of HPV can lead to cervical cancer. And I’m also hearing that the strands of HPV that develop warts are not related to the strands that can cause cervical cancer, but then again i’m hearing people say the Genital Warts are directly related as a high risk for CC. Help!

Gardasil protects against 4 strains of HPV: 2 strains that cause 70% of all cervical cancers, and 2 strains that cause 90% of all genital warts. There are hundreds of strains of HPV; they cause warts and cancers in various parts of the body — not just genitals. Some of the strains not covered by the vaccine still cause a small fraction of cases, which is why you will still need Pap smears. But the vaccine is by and large highly effective.
HOWEVER, you need all 3 shots to gain full protection against the 4 major HPV strains. One shot gives partial protection, but you need to complete the series for full, reliable protection.
