Help for Genital Warts

Until a month ago, I had a huge problem with warts growing on my hands. It started with one, which stubbornly refused to die for 2 years. Then, one day, several others grew. I tried to kill them in a few over-the-counter methods, none of which worked. I had a doctor (general practioner) freeze them, and they came back. Finally I made an appointment with a dermatologist (he can’t see me for 6 months), and in the meanwhile I decided to try one more over the counter treatment. It can’t hurt right? So I picked up a treatment that uses a bandaid to apply 18 percent silaic acid to the warts. To my pleasure, I killed five warts this way–or at least got the visible portion to fall off. Then, to my graet suprise, just after the five warts fell off, abruptly *every* other wart on my hands, of any size or age, shrank away. It took under a week.
Does anyone know why this happened? Did my immune system suddenly “recognize” the HPV virus? I’m deeply curious as to what cause this turn of events.

My fiance had genital warts when I met him, but he said that he was in denial when he got them. I didn’t know he had these warts when I slept with him. He went to his dermatolgoist to get them removed, but didn’t go back like he was supposed to because it hurt him so bad. At the time I wondered if it was an STD, but my fiance didn’t seem to think it was. Well, I ended up getting warts and I am currently being treated for them. I got them from him. He feels bad because if he wasn’t so irresponsible, I wouldn’t have gotten them. Would you be resentful?

there is misunderstanding here:Human Immunodeficiency Virus through fluid/blood exchange and Human Papilloma Virus through mucosa, both infectious for human (both men and women). HPV positive woman need to pap test as 2 types of HPV transmittable into cervix cancer. Once HPV positive, the virus stay in the body forever, which means the wart may coming back through another mucosa contact to the wound u dont even notice. The answer is yes, u risk the ping pong effect, ur warts never gone cause u keep infected from ur partner, that why HPV warts need treatment for both parties, to recover the same time. condom is the only option but still risk the chance ping pong effect. Visible warts r infectious, but no symptom doen’t mean NO infectious at all. After the infection, 2months to years to b visible warts. there’s no guarantee here.hope this helps a bit!

There is basically two different kinds of HPV – sexually transmitted kinds and non-sexually transmitted kinds. There are over 120 different kinds of HPV and about 30 of them are sexually transmitted.
HPV can cause hand and feet warts, warts on elbows and knees and other places on the body. These are NON sexual HPV types.
There are other types of HPV that can cause genital warts and cervical cancer. They also can cause penile and anal cancer, but both of these are REALLY rare. These kinds of HPV are almost always sexually transmitted. You can get them from sex (vaginal, oral and anal) and by direct skin to skin contact.
You can also get HPV from childbirth. This is also REALLY rare.
