It’s a holiday week-end, but I know I have an outbreak of genital Herpes. I’ve known my husband had the virus and we’ve been safely managing the condition for the 19 years we’ve been together, but our “luck ran out” I guess.
I’ve read a lot and I plan to get to a doctor first thing next week, but in the meantime, can anyone out there tell me of what they may use to ease the discomfort of the painful blisters?
I started taking warm baths with 1st Epsom Salts and today regular salt. I’ve dried out the area and I’m wearing a dress with no underwear on. I read on a UK site to use Vasilene; other sites say use no ointments or creams. I tried using pure corn starch on it, too.
Can you help with any ideas that may work for you?
Thanks much.
P.S. For any of you who have a partner with this virus and you don’t have it, be very careful and use condoms as much as possible. My husband usually felt the on-coming of his outbreaks, but this one time he didn’t
Thanks for taking the time to answer; I really appreciate it! Just curious, why is warm/hot water not good? Before getting anwers, I sat in the tub (in warm/hot water.)
Just hope I can make it through today — 1st day of work (I wish I could rest at least one more day
