Question about getting a herpes and genital warts test?04.01.10

Tomorrow I have an appt with my doctor. I’ve been to two other doctors what gave me a visual diagnosis saying what I have is a ingrown hair bump. The health dept that I went to said they only do visual testings for herpes and genital warts. My question is what do I say to my doctor for him to test me for what’s needed for those two stds, I want to know for certain? What test do I ask for? Thanks

Question About Hpv And Cervical Cancer?02.24.10

When I was pregnant with my first daughter, I received a routine pap smear. It came back postitive and my OB/GYN told me I have HPV. She did a colposcopy and found that I had precancerous cells in my cervix that would need to be frozen — but not until after I gave birth.
I moved out of state and did not see that doctor again and put all of that out of my mind. My current OB/GYN said my pap came back positive and told me the same thing about HPV. I had another baby six weeks ago and recently noticed a large lump in my vulva.
Could this be a genital wart? I know HPV causes warts. Or could it be something worse, as I did nothing to treat the STD for the past two and a half years?

Hpv Question! Please Help!?02.23.10

My boyfriend had two bumps at the bottom of his penis over a week ago. He went to the doctor who said it was HPV (genital warts) and burned them off and then gave him cream.
I got tested a few days ago and am still waiting for the results.
We go back to school on sunday though. If he had the warts burned off a week ago and has been using the cream is it safe to have sex now? Or will I get warts too? Assuming we both have HPV would it be okay to have sex regardless?
I think its probably okay but better safe to not assume!

Hpv Question?02.23.10

I married a virgin and been married for over 20 years. My wife only had me as a sexual partner for all those years and now she is diagnosed as high risk HPV (wart Virus). Can she have wart virus without contracting it from me? She never had any other partner but me and I don’t know if I have it coz I don’t have any symtoms. I did have an affair a year ago. Will she have contracted it from me if the person I had affair with is infected? Will it show that fast?

Question About The Cervical Cancer / Hpv Vaccine (guardasil)!?02.22.10

Hi! Bear with me for a second on this….
1. Human papilloma virus (HPV) is defined as family of viruses that causes hand warts, foot warts, flat warts and genital warts.
2. Guardasil is a “cervical cancer vaccine,” but in reality, it just protects against HPV, since HPV is the leading cause of cervical cancer.
This leads me to ask: Would the Guardasil vaccine protect against warts on the hands and feet too, since they’re all caused by the same virus (HPV) as genital warts?
Thanks!
P.S. I’m not covered in warts, just so you know, lol…. I was just watching a commercial about Guardasil and this question popped into my head!
