How Will Hpv Affect My Relationship?02.26.10

Me and my boyfriend have been together for months and have had unprotected sex (I’m on birth control!). I just found out that I have HPV genital warts and have started treatment. However, I’m not sure how this will affect my relationship. Me and my boyfriend are completely committed to each other and are in it for the long run, and obviously we can still have sex.
My doctor wasn’t really clear on how this would affect sex, and I can’t find many answers online… should we use condoms from now on? Or is it still not necessary because we both have the virus? Neither one of us is going to be sleeping with anyone else, but I can’t find info on how HPV affects monogamous couples. Any info or advice would be very much appreciated.

When Will Genital Warts Starts To Appear?02.26.10

I had a D&C procedure last October due to blighted ovum (its supposedly my 1st baby) then genital warts started to appear just a few days after it. My husband and I had no sexual contact that time so its not possible that I just got it from him. I just had a papsmear last Sept when I found out I was pregnant and no sign of HPV was seen. Is it possible that I am already a carrier of HPV for quite some time already and D&C only triggers the genital warts. My husband confessed even before we got married that he acquired STD 5-6 years ago and I had only sex with him.

If Genital Warts Go Away On There On Will The Virus Still Lay Dormat In The Body?02.24.10

Yes, the virus will remain. Every virus you get never really goes away. HPV works the same. Once the tests come back negative, the HPV is still there and you probably will never have a recurrence, or be able to transmit it to a future partner. Some HPV infections do persist for life, but 98% do not. 92% of people have no signs or symptoms of HPV within 6-12 months after infection, and they never have a recurrence.
80% of sexually active adults will get HPV in their lifetime. It sucks, I had it, but it’s nothing to freak out about. You will be okay :-)
Just check in with the doctor.

Will Having Hpv Hurt My Chances Of Getting Good Medical Insurance?02.23.10

I was sexually assaulted 10 months ago and as a result I have low-risk HPV (genital warts.) This strain does not cause cancer or any cervical changes, only ugly warts.
I had treatment to remove the warts. Now it is on my record that I have HPV.
Will this hurt my chances at getting a good policy in the future? Will they insinuate that if I have an STD, I must be “loose” and lead a risky lifestyle that includes smoking, drinking, and other unhealthy behaviors? It is not my fault for getting the STD because I was sexually assualted.
I have an anxiety disorder so I worry constantly. Please tell me if I am worrying for nothing or if my worries are warranted.
